FLO LINUS BAUMANN
WRITER / DIRECTOR
Born in Singapore, raised in the US and Switzerland, Flo worked on film sets across Europe before graduating in film from the Zurich University of Arts and further film studies at NYU’s MFA film program. His short films are among other things nominated by the German Film Academy for Best Narrative Short, selected to prestigious film festivals such as the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Palm Springs Short Fest and Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage.
The head of the German television channel ZDF, who produced early work from Jarmusch and Wenders, wrote to Flo's short BETWEEN: “An oppressive study told quietly, precisely, atmospherically dense, with haunting, sometimes even metaphorical images“. Kentucker Audley wrote to his short COPRUS "a stunning achievement", SHORT OF THE WEEK calls his latest work SOUSAPHONE "strange, yes, but also surprisingly human and Kaufman-esque" and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) calls it "an excellent measure of life's late years."
Additionally, Flo's feature scripts have been selected to the Creative Producing Lab at Sundance and were semi-finalist at the Academy Award Nicholls screenplay competition. Flo is based in NY.
